When counting points, only the unit number is to be considered. In other words, if a player rolls a 2 and a 9, the cumulative total of his hand would be worth 1 point (11). If he gets a 6 and an 8, his hand would be worth 4 points (14). To put it simply, remove the tens digit after adding (18 = 8, 17 = 7 ...).
How to Win Baccarat?
If the player receives a hand worth 8 or 9 points, he wins (unless the dealer also has a hand of the same value). If the player gets a lower value hand, the dealer may or may not distribute a third card based on the accumulated total. The picking of the third card is conditioned by certain rules. The player will receive a third card if the total of his hand is less than or equal to 5 points. The decision does not belong to the player because only the rules of the game will automatically determine the procedure to follow.
